Gameplay (9/10) |
| You play the role of Sam Fisher a field-operative of a secret NSA sub-agency. You are the American governments last resort for terrorist investigation. If you die or get captured all knowledge of your existence will be denied. That's the basic storyline to Splinter Cell and as you can start see it's a very action packed game. Splinter Cell allows you to do what no other game has allowed you to do before, and lets you do a variety of moves, weapons and gadgets to let you get answers from your enemies. On the main gameplay screen you have lots of different displays that help you be more stealthy and disappear into thin air. In the bottom right hand corner of the screen you have the 3 most important. There is the weapon inventory which lets you see and change what weapon you are holding, then there's the inventory message scanner which tells you if you have any new messages or intelligence. But the most special of them all is definitely the stealth meter. This tells you how visible you are in your surroundings. If the pin is on the left hand side then you are practically invisible, but if you go into somewhere where it's light then the pin will move over to the right meaning you are visible. There is also the life meter in the top right hand corner which does what it says on the tin and measures how much life you have. There are also over 20 different moves and actions you can do with Fisher, which have never really been tried before. Splinter Cell is totally fresh and new makes a change from all the other stealth games out there. Along with all these different moves there are also over 10 different gadgets for you to use and loads of missions for you to play through. What's also different about this game is how your results are displayed. Instead of rating you out of 10 or giving you points. Your results are displayed in a news program and the better you have done the more of it you will get to see, which will help you in the next level. It also has GBA capabilities and turns the GBA into a map. Splinter Cell is one of the best terrorist espionage games out there. |

Graphics (9/10) |
| Splinter Cell allows you to interact with the surroundings like never before. Everything is nicely rounded off and gives the game even more realism. As you walk in front a window, if it has blinds on it that are half open the shadow of the blinds will fall onto Sam. If you walk behind some curtains and accidentally touch them they move and sway, giving you away to your enemies. Crystal clear realistic too. |

Value (9/10) |
| This game is one of the longest games you will ever play. There is just so much to do. Some of the levels are really hard too and if you don't get into the game and get every clue then you will set off an alarm and be discovered. And even when you have done you can always come back and kick everyone's butt one more time and it will always be exiting. |
|
Overall (9/10) |
| Splinter Cell is the best of its kind and is fresh new and exiting. No other stealth game offers this much gameplay and action and you will always be coming back for more. It will also not be flawed in a week or 2 like some games and will take you around a month to finish completely. A must for everyone. |
